About National Peace Commission for Interfaith Harmony

The National Peace Commission for Interfaith Harmony, established by the Government of Pakistan in 2012, who works under the supervision of Law & Justice Commission, at promoting peaceful coexistence and understanding among diverse faith communities in the country. Our primary objective is to foster a culture of tolerance, acceptance, and mutual respect, thereby contributing to the consolidation of a harmonious and peaceful Pakistani society.

As an autonomous body, the Commission operates under the aegis of the Federal Government, with a mandate to address issues related to interfaith harmony, social cohesion, and conflict resolution. Our mission is to provide a platform for constructive dialogue, collaboration, and collective action among representatives of various faith traditions, including Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and others.

The Commission's strategic vision is built around several key areas of focus, including:

1. **Facilitating Interfaith Dialogue**: We organize regular conferences, seminars, and workshops to bring together leaders and scholars from different faith backgrounds, with the aim of promoting cross-cultural understanding and exchange.

2. **Promoting Social Cohesion**: Our initiatives aim to strengthen social bonds and foster a sense of shared citizenship among people of diverse faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.

3. **Resolving Conflicts**: We work to address conflicts and disputes that may arise between communities, using mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

4. **Empowering Youth and Women**: The Commission places a strong emphasis on empowering young people and women from diverse faith backgrounds, recognizing their critical role in promoting peace, tolerance, and social change.

5. **Advocating Policy Reforms**: We advocate for policy reforms and legislative changes that promote interfaith harmony, social justice, and human rights, and provide recommendations to the Government on these issues.

Through our efforts, the National Peace Commission for Interfaith Harmony seeks to contribute to the creation of a more just, equitable, and peaceful society in Pakistan, where people of all faiths and backgrounds can live together in harmony and mutual respect.
